“ It will be nice to spend a fun evening meeting others. PHP is fun, and causes all these "nice things" to happen in forums :) I am always wiling to share the very small amount of knowledge I have with others, and learn in return. Don [masked] ”

“ I'd consider myself a beginner to budding intermediate PHP developer, and I wondered if I would be out of my depth coming to this group. If I was, I never once was made to realize it. The topic of the night was covered concisely and simply. And even though half the crowd had prior experience/knowledge of the topic, Jeremy gave numerous opportunities to ask questions. Staying after the meetup gave me the opportunity to meet a few members, hear some expanded ideas on the night's topic, have my interest piqued in a few projects, and gain some insights and advice from pros that was nothing short of inspiring. I know being a part of this group will be an asset to my growth as a developer and I would recommend it to PHP coders at any level. ”

“ Good to have a local PHP SIG. Experience sharing may be as valuable as asking questions. I would like to see sections on the website for book reviews, and a blog for sharing ideas and personal experiences on-line. In the meeting you asked about favorite functions -- it would be nice to have short blogs about favorite functions with examples, things learned from experience from the use of these functions, and their status. Is this function new or does is replace a deprecated function. Even examples of how things are done procedurally, and the advantage (if any) of doing it with "class." A database of code samples for our local group would be great -- something similar to code.google.com Even parallel examples of how to do it with PHP compared with other languages, i.e., PERL, Java, Ruby, or C++. Examples of how, when and why to incorporate AJAX would be helpful to many programmers. All of these things would be easy to set-up, and there is a need for them. ”
