I am interested in developing web programming skills using open source tools such as Ubuntu Linux, Eclipse Developer, RoR, LAMP, etc.
An enthusiastic and welcoming bunch of techies. The meeting was very enjoyable.

Disabling IPv6 allows it to work minimally. I get 1 or 2 Mbps download and 3 to 3.5 Mbps upload (in Windows I get 8 to 12 Mbps download and 2 to 3 Mbps upload, strangely).
Gerald, I got your message about coming to a meeting to address my Linux issues. I couldn't find a way to reply to the message though. I couldn't even find the message on my profile...I'm still ironing out the GUI on Meetup.
I have a desktop, so it would be difficult to bring it. Disconnecting it is easy but putting it back is a nightmare. It's also heavy (the case is steel). My wireless driver just sucks and there's no alternative. I also discovered I had IPv6 enabled for it.
Hi Gerald. I see what you mean. There are 2 groups. I just signed up for this one.
Hi Gerald, It looks like I am in the group Clicks & Coffee. It was nice meeting you today! Dayna Camp
Gerald are you still meeting on Sat at 1:00 at Library?
Gerald, thank you for the note. I appreciate you opening up the meetup for me. I am very busy but I definitely want to make time for giving learning Ruby a shot. I will attend the Saturday meetup as I can. Thanks again!
Thank you, Gerald! I love this idea!
Fancy meeting you here! I've got to come by your HQ and see what you've done with it. The pics look awesome.
Hi Gerald,
Welcome to the Group, looking forward to meeting you at the Derby.
Hey Gerald! Just noticed you on the memphis meetup page -- cool! Enjoyed the presentation you guys gave at the 48hour launch reunion. I actually just installed Ubuntu on my desktop, and have started using it "seriously" for the last few weeks. I think I'm a convert!
